Google Pixel 5 vs. Samsung Galaxy S20
Samsung Galaxy S20 has been one of the best phones on the market since its launch. Now, it faces competition from Google Pixel 5, which is the latest phone from Google.
Google Pixel 4 and 4XL had a lot of smart features and specs. They also had some flaws, due to which they weren’t sold much, despite getting some solid reviews. Now, it seems that Google has rethought the new phone and came up with Pixel 5, which is quite cheaper compared to other flagships available in the market. It has some compromises too, though.
The design of the Galaxy S20 is functional and straightforward. It has a punch-hole camera in the top middle of the front screen. And there is a plain square camera bump on the rear. The color variants available for this phone are also quite impressive.
Google Pixel 5, on the other hand, comes with a changed design. It doesn’t have chunky bezels on top now. The front-facing camera is housed in a small punch-home on the left side of the screen. The edge-to-edge display seems more impressive compared to that in Pixel 4 and 4XL. The back of the phone is made of aluminum. You can get this phone in black and greenish sage colors.
The Galaxy S20 comes with a 6.2-inch screen. The one on the Pixel 5 is six inches. both these phones have OLED’s. Samsung has done better by using a QHD screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Pixel 5, too, offers a fast refresh rate of 90Hz.
The Galaxy S20 comes with three rear cameras: a 12P mail lens, 64MP 3x optical telephoto lens, and a 12MP ultra-wide shooter. There is a 12MP camera on the front.
While the number of cameras on the Pixel 5 is less than that of the Galaxy S20, the camera quality makes it one the best camera phone available on the market. This phone comes with two rear cameras: a 12.2MP main camera and a 16MP ultra-wide camera.
From the perspective of the amount of camera hardware, the S20 seems to have a clear edge here. but as mentioned above, Google Pixel 5 beats the competition with its impressive camera quality, powered by smart image processing. Even the digital zoom of this phone is quite incredible.
Both these phones can take high-quality shots in low light. Pixel 5 is particularly better in this department.
The Galaxy S20 comes with the Snapdragon 865 chipset, which is quite a powerful processor in the smartphone industry. It is the second most powerful chip after Snapdragon 865+, which is installed in the Galaxy Note 20. Nonetheless, you will get the S20 with this chip on in the US. Elsewhere, the Galaxy S20 is available with Samsung’s own Exynos 990, which offers comparable performance and 5G support.
Pixel 5, on the other hand, doesn’t come with a flagship processor. It has a Snapdragon 765G chip, which can perform well but not as well as the Snapdragon 865.
The Galaxy S20 comes with 12GB of RAM, which is higher than 8GB of the Pixel 5. The only storage option available in Pixel 5 is 128GB, which is also available in the S20.
